In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Add the eggs, milk, and vanilla and beat until the mixture becomes fluffy.
In another bowl, whisk together both flours, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; gradually beat into the creamed mixture, adding more flour if necessary. Divide the dough into 2 portions. Chill the dough until you're ready to make the Pizza Tart.
The dough should make two 12” pizza-size tarts. You can roll out the dough like pie dough or press it out on the pan with floured fingers. Once the dough is evenly distributed, flute the edges (To flute the edges of a pastry crust, you typically press the dough into the pan and trim any excess from the edges. Then, using your fingers, a fork, or another utensil, you press into the dough at regular intervals to create a consistent pattern. A common method involves pinching the dough between the thumb and index finger of one hand and using the index finger of the other hand to push the dough from the opposite side to form a V-shaped crimp. This technique not only seals the crust but also gives it a professional, finished look that enhances the presentation of the baked good).
Preheat the oven to 330° F. and lightly grease your pizza pan.
Bake the crust for 12 to 15 minutes. Ovens tend to vary. Allow the crust to cool to room temperature before you add any toppings.
The Build —
Blend 1 pound of softened cream cheese with 1 tablespoon of Wood’s Maple Sugar until smooth. Spread over the cooled crust as evenly as possible.
Add your choice of toppings and sprinkle with shredded coconut to garnish (cheese lol!)
Recipe Note
Seasonal fruits really make this dish amazing as well as healthy and don't be afraid to mix this up and try nut that are raw, candied, or roasted and salted.
Another option:
Throw in some handfuls of your favorite chocolate chips for chocolate chip cookie dough.
If you are serving this for your children's sports team, give them the option of adding their own topping that you provide. It's a WINNER.
